The Ninth annual OFIC CareerFest was held on Friday, February 5, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio at the Aladdin Shrine Center. The purpose of CareerFest is to bring students and alumni from OFIC’s 34 member institutions to meet with OFIC’s donor companies and organizations in one central location to discuss internship and employment opportunities.
This year 93 organizations—businesses, corporations, non-profit groups, and government agencies—and over 1,100 students registered from 30 of our campuses to discuss permanent employment and internship opportunities. Due to inclement weather only 724 students attended. Those that did not attend received all of the employer contact information for their employment search.
CareerFest 2011 has been scheduled for February 4th in the same location and our goal is to achieve at least a 5% growth in employers and return to 1,200 students.
OFIC would like to recognize and thank those individuals who helped make CareerFest 2010 a success. Our college Career Services Representatives’ efforts and expertise made it all possible.
